It is easy to eat healthy when your food taste good. I have been cooking traditional Jamaican dishes since I was a child. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen with my mother and grandmother where I closely observed their cooking styles and skillful use of herbs and spices to flavor the food. I learned to cook using various techniques including baking. I also cook other cuisines but usually with some Jamaican influences, such as the spices and herbs used.

I have found that when you flavor your food with herbs and spices you can make any meal taste great and you never have to worry about following a bland, tasteless, boring diet. Everything comes to life on your plate, including vegetables and produce. You also reap the health benefits of adding various herbs and spices to your meals, not just the flavor. Studies have shown that some herbs and spices possess antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and anticarcinogenic properties. Some examples of these spices are turmeric, cumin, rosemary, thyme, cinnamon, parsley and chili powder to name just a few.
